About Us
Our Point of View
-
1
The state of the world is largely a reflection of the wisdom of cumulative decisions previously taken.
The intertwined crises we are now facing reflect a stark, and long-growing wisdom gap.
-
2
We are part of a giant, nested, interconnected, interdependent, complex, adaptive, living system.
Yet we have been taught to see, think and act from a largely siloed, fragmented, individualistic, extractive, machine-system worldview.

The leadership work of our time is to cultivate a deeper understanding of the reality of the nested systems we are part of, and to improve our ability to collectively create the enabling conditions for change & transformation.
Deep Wave was established to support this work.
RICHARD GORVETT, Founder & Principal
Richard has spent the past 20 years coaching, training, advising, consulting to, and helping build support ecosystems for thousands of purpose-led, transformation-focused business and non-profit leaders and organizations across 25+ countries.
7 of those years were spent in Southern & East Africa and 5 were spent as the Global Impact Director at the international non-profit Reach for Change, where, in partnership with the Swedish investment company Kinnevik, the World Bank, IKEA Foundation, GIZ and many others, he led a global team in the creation and delivery incubators and accelerators for social entrepreneurs all over the world.
He currently works on a broad range of leadership and impact development initiatives at both international and local levels, from senior leadership programs for the UK Civil Service & one of the world’s largest FMCG companies, to a range of community initiatives here in Freeport, Maine where he lives.
He works independently, and in concert with others from his diverse and deeply experienced network of local and international consultants, facilitators, coaches, impact entrepreneurs and other purpose-led leaders.
A deep curiosity to understand how we individually & collectively shape change led me to study and practice Social Entrepreneurship at the London School for Social Entrepreneurs, Transformational Leadership with Tim Munden (Lucca Leadership), Executive Coaching & Mentoring with Chapel House, Regenerative Development & Design with Pamela Mang & Bill Reed (Regenesis Group), Regenerative Leadership with Laura Storm, Three Horizons with Bill Sharpe and Rosa Sommer (Leader’s Quest), Regenerative Economics with John Fullerton (Capital Institute), Team Dynamics with Rich Watkins (Let’s Go!), and Engaged Buddhism in the Plum Village Tradition.
